Best Practices for Information Security (I)

As users store more and more important data on computers or clouds, there are more and more cyber attacks occur.  Not only IT personnel, but also common users need to know information security.

In this article, we will show some practices for Computer and Information Security.

1. Keep your computer up-to-date

Most of the cyber-attacks are carried out through system vulnerabilities.  Usually Companies will release patch update files as soon as possible after discovering vulnerabilities.  But if these vulnerabilities are not fixed immediately, they may be exploited by a hacker.

2. Update the firmware on your device

Besides the Operating system, many devices might be cracked, such as router, IP camera.  Therefore, User need to go to the device setting page and update firmware frequently.

In device Setting page, user can check the latest firmware version.

3. Install anti-virus software

Altough Windows 10 already built-in Windows Defender software, user still can choose any anti-virus software they liked. Of course, it’s not foolproof after user install the anti-virus software, user need to configure scheduled scan and keep virus database up to date.

4. Increase password complexity
