Keyboard shortcuts in Windows 10 – Part I

Essential keyboard shortcuts

As we know that “Ctrl + C” is the Copy shortcut and “Ctrl + V” is the paste shortcut.  Here are the other essential keyboards shortcuts:

Ctrl + X Cut selected items to clipboard.  After that, you can use “Ctrl + V” to paste them from clipboard.
Ctrl + A Select all content, so that you can copy (Ctrl + C) or cut (Ctrl + X) them.
Ctrl + Z Undo an action.
Ctrl + Y Redo an action.

Keyboard shortcuts for symbols

If you want to type some symbols, press and hold alt key and enter the code with the numeric keypad.  Here are some common symbols:

Per mille Alt + 0137
Trademark Alt + 0153
© Copyright Alt + 0169
® Registered Trademark Alt + 0174
° Degree Alt + 248

When using new Zhuyin IME, you can use these keyboard shortcuts to insert some full-width symbols.

Ctrl + , Full-width comma ,
Ctrl + . Full-width full stop 。
Ctrl + ‘ Full-width comma(for traditional Chinese) 、
Ctrl + ; Full-width semi colon ;

 

In tradition Chinese, If you want to insert other symbols, you can use “Ctrl + Alt + ,” to open IME pad.
