If your NAS is provided to multiple people, it is recommended to store the website data in the Home folder to avoid being deleted by other users. However, due to the permission settings, the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager needs to use the following settings for the website to be successfully accessed. Please refer to the following steps:

  1. On the Application Pools in the left column, right-click and select [Add Application Pool…] to add an Application Pool. After setting the name, click [OK].

Then on the Sites on the left column, right-click and select [Add Website…], set the Site name (can be customized), Physical path (please select the path of the website data you just uploaded), Hostname (please enter the DDNS you just set), other items, and additionally set the Application Pool. Please select [Select] and set the Application Pool that just added.

After complete adding, click the site you want to set, and select [Edit Permissions…] on the right.

Switch to [Security] tab and choose [Edit], then select [Add…].

In [Enter the object names to select] enter [IIS AppPool\Your Application Pool Name], click [Check Names], if the name shows to your [Application Pool Name] correctly, please click [OK].

After complete creation, please setup that group’s [Full Control] and [Modify] permission to Allow.

Click site and open [Authentication], right-click [Anonymous Authentication] and select [Edit], change settings to [Application pool identity].

After complete settings, open the browser and enter the DDNS address, then the user should be able to browse the website content.
